Looks like chocolate, feels like leather. Vans' latest Slip-On takes a detour through the dessert case with its colorway, but underneath it's really an upgraded take on the classic slip-on silhouette.
This "Demitasse Brown" colorway belongs to the Vans Premium Classic Slip-On line, not the standard everyday version you'd typically find. The upper swaps out canvas for textured leather, bumping up both comfort and material quality a notch. The iconic Vans checkerboard print is still there, but the entire shoe is soaked in a rich, deep brown tone that reads more like a freshly molded chocolate bar than a skate shoe.
This isn't the first time Vans has played with an "edible" visual concept on a shoe. The brand previously released chocolate-toned loafers in both full leather and suede versions. Compared to those loafers, this Slip-On sticks to a more classic skate shoe shape—less flash, more of that rich, sweet mood.
