One shoe, four colorways, and a rollout spanning a full five months — that's not exactly the typical retro release cadence. Instead of dropping the whole Tor Ultra Lo lineup at once, HOKA is spacing things out, letting each colorway surface on its own schedule so the hype trickles on well into the end of the year.
Let's talk about the shoe itself first. The Tor Ultra Lo keeps its original rugged hiking-boot silhouette, now rebuilt with a nubuck leather upper reinforced with abrasion-resistant nylon overlays, plus a GORE-TEX bootie construction tucked inside for waterproofing. The outsole comes courtesy of Vibram Megagrip, engineered to handle both city streets and off-road terrain, sitting atop a chunky midsole that delivers solid stability underfoot. It's still very much the tough, tool-like boot fans remember — just with a slightly tweaked fit and proportions that let it move easily from trail to street.
Each colorway gets its own release window. "Antique Olive" leads things off on August 14th, bringing a weathered, worn-in take on olive green. "Black" follows in September as the most versatile, easiest-to-wear option of the bunch. Come early November, "Varsity Navy" steps in with its deep navy tone, before the release finally wraps up with "Archival Taupe" in early December — four colors, four months, neatly covering the back half of the year.
For now, only the colorways and their respective release months have been confirmed — pricing and retailer details have yet to be announced.
