OTW by Vans has long been a sub-label in Taiwan that required tracking down specific stores to get your hands on—now there's another way in: Vans Taiwan's official website. Beyond the previously designated retail channels, consumers can now browse this material- and craftsmanship-driven line directly on the official site, taking in both the shoes and the brand story. For those who've been following OTW closely, this is more about filling out the completeness of retail channels than a new product launch.
The debut silhouette chosen for the website launch is the most fundamental model: the Era. The OTW Era 95 DST uses the classic Era silhouette as its base, swapping the upper for Heavy Enzyme Washed Canvas, replacing the collar with foam padding, and using fuzzy laces. These details stack together to create a straightforward effect—a shoe that looks like it's been worn for ages right out of the box. The distressed look isn't achieved through printing or spray effects, but through the texture of the washed canvas itself conveying a sense of time.
The outsole retains Vans' signature waffle pattern, while the insole has been swapped for Sola Foam ADC—another point of difference between the DST version and the standard Era: beneath the vintage appearance lies modern-spec support. In other words, this shoe looks worn-in on the outside, but the underfoot feel hasn't gone retro along with it.
Three colorway options are offered: black, black-and-white checkerboard, and red-blue colorblock. The checkerboard is an instantly recognizable Vans motif, while the red-blue colorblock is the boldest of the three, suited for those wanting an alternative to the usual understated canvas shoe.
The OTW Era 95 DST is priced at NT$3,480 and is now available at Vans Taiwan's official website and JUICE.
