Olivia Rodrigo's string of '90s rock crossovers continues — this time with Smashing Pumpkins. On Friday, July 31, she showed up during the band's headlining set at Lollapalooza in Chicago to perform "Thirty-Three," off their 1995 album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.
She wasn't the only surprise guest of the night. Melissa Auf der Maur, the Hole bassist who briefly joined Smashing Pumpkins, took the stage with the band for "The Everlasting Gaze" from Machina/The Machines of God. Earlier in the set, Yungblud also came out to sing "Luna" alongside Billy Corgan.
Rodrigo's got a packed schedule ahead. Daisy Chain Fields, the all-female-lineup festival she's curating, will debut on August 29 at Great Park in Irvine, California, with a bill featuring Bikini Kill, Chappell Roan, Doechii, Stevie Nicks, and Mitski. In early 2027, she'll also kick off the Unraveled Tour, performing tracks from her latest album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.
