The lighting stayed low, occasionally catching a flash of Kirin gold, a calligrapher worked live on the spot, and a DJ spun vinyl all night. The whole space felt less like a typical fine-dining setup and more like everyone had been dropped into the same experiment.
Once the food hit the table, the vibe shifted from "quiet dining" to "cross-table interrogation." Since every table got something different, curiosity kicked in naturally — someone was holding their own Kirin beer panko-fried Filet-O-Fish, someone else had a delicately sliced Hotate carpaccio, and another guest was staring down a modern take on lamb. People started trading bites and comparing choices, with "Kanpai" toasts breaking out all night, turning what could've been three separate menus into one shared conversation.
Kirin Ichiban tied the whole concept back to the brand's dragon mascot: the dragon never reveals itself all at once — it only comes into view gradually, once you commit to the path you've chosen. What could've easily split the room into three isolated cliques instead sparked more conversation and more food-swapping, simply because everyone picked something different. That's the whole point of the event — there's no right answer in a choice, you only find out what you actually picked once you're already living it.
