Thirteen shows left. Three in Chicago, ten in London, wrapping up on September 1st. This marks the closing stretch of Ariana Grande's first tour in nearly seven years — and the final countdown before she steps back from the public eye.
According to her representative, who spoke to People, Grande will "take a step back from public visibility" once the tour concludes. Also being scrapped is her planned reunion with former "Wicked" co-star Jonathan Bailey — she will no longer be part of the West End revival of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's 1984 work "Sunday in the Park With George."
The decision comes amid growing fan concern over changes in her appearance during tour performances and music videos. In a statement, her rep said she's looking forward to finishing this tour "healthy and happy" and taking a well-earned break away from "constant public scrutiny." The statement also noted that the tour has been a wonderful experience for her, and that she's cherished every moment spent with fans.
Another source described as "close to Grande" told People that her performances are physically demanding, and that "she's delivered every night at a high level, healthy and successfully."
The tour's setlist spans her 2024 album "Eternal Sunshine" and 2020's "Positions," with a few tracks from "Petal" mixed in, including "Hate That I Made You Love Me" and "Petal" itself. After stepping away from the stage production, Grande will still appear in "Focker-in-Law," the latest installment in the "Meet the Parents" franchise, set to hit theaters November 25th — currently the only confirmed project that will bring her back into public view.
